Shabbat at Mt Sinai

“Remember the Sabbath Day to Keep it Holy

For God rested on the Seventh day, blessed the Sabbath Day

And sanctified it.”

(Exodus 20:8, 11)

Mt. Sinai honors the Shabbat throughout the month with services held to accommodate the needs of our diverse membership and our commitment to serving the Jewish communities in Central Wisconsin.

Morning services are normally held in Wausau in our beautiful sanctuary beginning at 10:00 am on select Saturday mornings.  At the conclusion, we have a light lunch or oneg, followed by an engaging and lively Torah discussion of the week’s parasah (the weekly Torah portion.)

On varying Fridays,  we hold evening services that begin at 7:00 pm.  We begin with candle-lighting and follow with our worship service.

Our prayer book is the widely accessible Mishkan T’filah that contains modern as well as the traditional Hebrew liturgy with easy transliteration, and beautiful accompanying English readings.

Please review our calendar as Shabbat services are sometimes held in outlining areas, hosted in congregants’ homes.

Please join us to celebrate the beautiful tradition of our Shabbat.
